El Paso high school coach resigns after video shows alleged assault on Special Ed student

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) – An El Paso high school coach has resigned after a video surfaced allegedly showing him assaulting a special needs student. According to the Ysleta Independent School District, Alfonso Licon, a P.E. teacher at Parkland High School stepped down after he was placed on administrative leave in August following a viral video that appeared to show Licon inside the school’s gym body-slamming a student believed to be in the Special Education Program.
