Severe Thunderstorms & Tornadic Activity Possible Across Areas of Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma

Severe Weather Also Possible Across Iowa & Missouri

10/30/24 9:09am ET

Good morning everyone. Very mild air has pushed into the Northeast, with widespread 60’s and 70’s expected for highs across much of the region. In the bigger cities, mid to upper 70’s will take hold, especially tomorrow and Friday.

Across New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C., near 80 or low 80 temps are possible tomorrow. Friday’s bonus day of mild air will come courtesy of extra sunshine due to our cold front drying out before it reaches us; which means less clouds and a lower chance of showers.

That cold front will be responsible for widespread severe weather and heavy shower & thunderstorm activity later this morning through the overnight hours across parts of the Midwest. Areas such as Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Oklahoma, will be holding on tight as clusters of storms merge into a formidable line later today. Look for the chance of widespread damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and the risk of a few tornadoes.
