Atlanta’s 2024 homicide victims

Information on the following homicide cases was compiled from Atlanta Police Department incident reports, news releases and statements; Fulton County jail and court records; online obituary and fundraising sites and interviews with victims’ family members and friends. Many cases, including those where no arrests have been made, remain under investigation.

Oct. 26: A 23-year-old man was shot to death at a West End home under construction, according to police. Salvador Ramirez of Lawrenceville was working at a home on Cascade Place when he was killed, his father told Channel 2 Action News.

Oct. 22: At approximately 3:35 p.m., officers responded to 2711 Metropolitan Parkway SW after a report that someone had been stabbed. There, officers located Henry W. Johnson, 37, who sustained apparent stab wounds. Johnson was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.

Oct. 18: A southwest Atlanta shooting killed Jamar Akins, 21 . The shooting happened shortly before noon in the 2600 block of Campbellton Road. The following day, Jasen Williams, 23, turned himself in and is facing charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, officials said. Investigators believe the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute between the two men.
