Delaware investment adviser suspended again for professional violations

A Delaware investment adviser with a lengthy history of professional violations has received another suspension, marking his third regulatory action in recent years.

On Oct. 28, Attorney General Kathy Jennings announced a six-month suspension of Robert Brandon Prettyman, former president of Summit Wealth Advisors, prohibiting him from working as an investment adviser. This suspension, running from Oct. 7, 2024, to April 7, 2025, was imposed after investigators found that Prettyman had continued accessing former clients’ financial information without their authorization while under a previously imposed suspension.

Prettyman had been unregistered in Delaware as a penalty for professional misconduct in which regulators claimed Prettyman provided false information during an investigation and acted outside standard industry practices.

The disciplinary action adds to a series of sanctions issued by state and professional regulators resulting in multiple suspensions and financial penalties against Prettyman.
