Columbus, Ohio. In a recent press release, Governor Mike DeWine announced that nearly 25.9 million dollars would be set aside to support housing growth across Ohio.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik announced nearly $25.9 million in grants and planned tax credits to help more Ohioans achieve their dream of homeownership.

According to the press release, the funding is part of the third round of the Welcome Home Ohio Program, which is investing $100 million in grants to help landbanks purchase, rehabilitate, or build qualifying residential properties for income-eligible Ohioans. Once a property is sold, $25 million in nonrefundable tax credits remains available to landbanks and eligible developers for rehab and new construction projects.

“Safe, affordable housing opens doors to better opportunities for families and strengthens the fabric of our communities,” said Governor DeWine. He added that the Welcome Home Ohio program creates pathways to homeownership for more Ohioans while bringing new life to neighborhoods.
