Bandimere Speedway announces possible reopening plans in new location

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Bandimere Speedway was a popular racetrack in Morrison before the family decided to close last year after 65 years in business with plans to reopen in another location.

For over a year, the family kept those potential plans under wraps – until now.

In 2023, the Bandimere family announced the track would shut down after the end of the drag racing season. Over a year since the family announced its upcoming closure, few plans were announced for the racetrack or the family.

A few months ago, there was a proposal to turn the racetrack itself into a storage facility for vehicles on sale. In May, Copart , an online auto auction company, submitted applications for a proposed annexation, zoning and rezoning of the 125-acre site, which the Morrison town board members accepted. Not much has been known about the application since May.

Meanwhile, little was said about plans for the family until closing day.
