Tim Walz making 5th trip to Arizona, this time to Flagstaff and Tucson

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will make his fifth visit to Arizona on Saturday when he campaigns in Flagstaff and Tucson in the final days of the presidential election.

Walz, the Democratic nominee for vice president, is coming to Arizona for the second Saturday in a row, and his trip comes days after Minnesota first lady Gwen Walz stumped for the Harris-Walz ticket here on Tuesday.

Walz plans to encourage voters to cast their ballots for Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats up and down the ballot, according to the Harris-Walz campaign. The trip marks his first visit to Flagstaff this election season.

Harris and former President Donald Trump are locked in a fierce battle for the White House in Arizona, one of just a few swing states where either candidate could win the election next week.

It’s a busy campaign week in the Grand Canyon State. Harris and Trump are set to hold dueling campaign events in Arizona on Thursday, a signal that both campaigns see opportunity here. Both sides have also sent top surrogates to the state in the last several weeks, including Trump’s running mate JD Vance and former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, who stumped for Harris.
