Daviess County voters share their stance on election integrity

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) — Daviess County voters are gearing up to cast their votes at the Owensboro Sportscenter Oct. 31. Voters are sharing whether they trust that voting protocols will ensure every vote is counted.

Voters say they are worried about whether those who vote by mail will actually have their voices heard. Other concerns include electronic system errors and fraud at polling locations.

Freddy Mack, a local voter, says he understands the idea behind early voting is to increase accessibility, but it also poses risks.

“…all paper ballots, and stick to election day as much as possible. Then, absentee ballots come in and they’re tallied, and it’s full disclosure. There’s no water pipes breaking at night and things getting shut down,” says Mack.

The Cyber Security & Infrastructure Security Agency says the entire year is spent implementing protective measures.

On Monday, Washington and Oregon opened up investigations after ballot boxes were set on fire and burned the ballots inside. One person says he’s not letting that affect his trust in the system.
