Bronx Man Stabbed to Death at Coney Island Subway Station

A 54-year-old man from the Bronx was fatally stabbed on Tuesday night at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station.

Police responded to the emergency call around 11:30 p.m. and found the victim unconscious on a train. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital shortly after midnight.

The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of his family.

Investigators are searching for a suspect described as a bald man in his 30s, wearing a green shirt and aqua-colored shorts. He was last seen fleeing toward Stillwell Avenue.

The motive for the stabbing is unknown, and police are investigating whether the victim and suspect were acquainted.

This marks the ninth murder on New York City’s transit system this year, exceeding the number of murders in 2023. However, overall crime on the transit system has decreased by 6.1%, and murders in the city have declined by 8.4%.
