Alabama fugitive, Georgia felon charged amid Knoxville Police investigation

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — Two suspects have been charged in Knoxville for possession as well as crimes related to a shooting in Alabama, an arrest warrant out of Georgia, with additional charges that are pending, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

The two men, identified as Abdul Khalil’Llah , 26 of Anniston, Alabama and Varrenzo Bradford , 26 of Statham, Georgia, were detained by KPD on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024 amid an investigation by KPD’s Organized Crime Unit (OCU), which executed a search warrant at an Airbnb where the two were spotted.

Additional arrests made in connection to burglary, shooting in Greene County

OCU investigators had received information prior to Monday’s search that Khalil’Llah, who was believed to be involved in a shooting in Alabama, was in the Knoxville area. Khalil’Llah was also wanted out of Georgia for failure to appear on a previous charge for felon in possession of a weapon, OCU detectives learned.

The OCU detectives tracked Khalil’Llah to an Airbnb in the 100 block of Greenbrier Drive on Monday, according to KPD, where he was observed entering a vehicle with another man, identified as Bradford, and leaving. The vehicle was stopped in a parking lot near S. Northshore Drive and Baum Drive, where Khalil’Llah and Bradford were detained.
