Double homicide investigation underway after burned bodies discovered in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A double homicide investigation is underway following the discovery of two burned bodies inside a car in Birmingham Tuesday morning.

According to Birmingham Police Department, the victims were found in the 1600 block of 90th Street North. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service personnel were dispatched just after 8 a.m. on report of a fire. At the scene, they found two bodies inside a burning car.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is helping the BPD with the investigation. Birmingham police are urging anyone with missing family members or loved ones to give them a call at 205-254-1764.
