CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Chicago Police detectives are investigating overnight burglaries in Armour Square and the West Loop.
One of the businesses that was hit was Ricobene’s on 26th Street, home of the famous breaded steak sandwich.
Police said three men, each armed with a handgun, smashed the glass on the front door and stole money from a register. Three women were inside at the time. They were not injured.
An hour later, a bar at Lake and Jefferson was burglarized.
Again, police said multiple people gained entry by shattering the glass front door. It’s unclear whether they took anything.
In both incidents, the burglars were gone when police arrived.
