Middle Tennessee child falls multiple stories from apartment window, police investigating

Lebanon detectives are trying to figure out how a child fell multiple stories from an apartment window on Tuesday.

The child, whose age and gender were not released, was flown by helicopter to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries after the fall, which occurred at an apartment building in the Five Oaks neighborhood, Lebanon Police Department spokesperson Zach Patton said.

An exact time of the fall wasn’t provided by police, but Lebanon Road was shut down for about 25 minutes Tuesday evening to hold a helicopter landing zone for the child.

There wasn’t an immediate update on the child’s condition Thursday.

“Detectives are working to understand what exactly happened,” Patton said in an email.

This is a developing story. Check back for more details as they become available.
