11 members of the Minneapolis Low’s gang are now facing racketeering charges after a grand indictment from a federal grand jury.
The 18-count indictment includes charges of firearm murder, drug trafficking, and felony possession of a weapon that resulted in seven shootings and five murders over the past three years.
United States Attorney Andrew Luger says there there are still additional individuals involved in this activity that have yet to face charges.
“We are by no means done investigating the Low’s,” says Luger. “Obviously, you’ll all know the minute we are ready to bring charges, if we are, against additional members of the Low’s. But this is the beginning. If I’m a Low’s member and I didn’t see my name in this indictment, that doesn’t mean a celebration.”
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara took direct aim at the suspects.
“The 11 violent offenders that have been indicted, we told you that we were coming for you,” said O’Hara. “Not only did you devalue human life in our city by hunting and killing rival gang members and celebrating those deaths on social media, you also killed innocent bystanders.”
