The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast from Meteorologists Matt Mackie and Kevin Appleby:
Happy Halloween! Temperatures will surge well into the 70s to near 80 degrees, some 20-25 degrees above normal, Halloween afternoon, with comfortable Trick-or-Treating weather persisting this evening. No layers required this year! A few hit-or-miss rain showers will move through after midnight into early Friday morning ahead of a cold front, setting the stage for a cooler but drier weekend ahead.
Highs will flirt with 80 degrees in Albany, with 80s more likely to the south. The current Halloween high temperature record at Albany is 75 degrees, so we will likely smash it by some 4 degrees.
Clouds thicken overnight, but the cold front won’t clear the region prior to daybreak. This will allow temperatures to stay warm, with lows in the 50s and low 60s overnight.
A few scattered showers are expected, but rainfall doesn’t look to amount to much. One or two showers may linger into the early morning hours of Friday.
