A 51-year-old woman was mysteriously found dead with wire wrapped around her neck inside a Brooklyn apartment this week, cops and sources said.
A neighbor made the grisly discovery around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday upon checking on the woman inside the fourth-floor unit on Flatlands Avenue near Elton Street in East New York, police said.

Her lifeless body was lying face-up on the living room floor, with the wire looped around her throat, authorities said.

EMS workers responded and pronounced the woman dead on the scene.

Her identity was not immediately released pending family notification, but sources said she has been arrested 28 times, is wanted for menacing and has a narcotics history.
The circumstances of her death remained under investigation Thursday.
