Alabama man files petition seeking compensation for ‘vaccine-related injuries’

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A man from Alabama is one of nearly 100 people nationwide who has filed a claim under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program for “vaccine-related injuries.”

Jeffery Till, of Brookwood, filed a petition with the United States Court of Federal Claims on Sept. 13 regarding alleged injuries that were caused by vaccines. The petition is sealed, but the filing was reported by the Department of Health and Human Services.

The filing was done through the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, which provides a “a no-fault compensation system for individuals injured by specified childhood vaccines,” according to the filing . Specifically, the program would allow for money for conditions listed in the Vaccine Injury Table, in addition to conditions not listed if it can be proven that said vaccine caused the condition.

Till is one of nearly 100 people who has filed petitions under the program.
