Shooting in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District leaves 1 dead

A man died of his injuries after a shooting Wednesday evening in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, police said.

San Francisco police said the shooting was reported shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Ellis and Jones Streets. When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground who had been shot, police said.

The officers began life-saving measures before paramedics arrived, police said, and the victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The unidentified victim later died at the hospital.

No other details were available and no information about any suspect.
