PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — If you follow the money that’s been flowing into the state and federal political accounts operated for South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, you could conclude that her focus has clearly shifted from the state to the national stage.
That’s because most of the Republican governor’s fundraising this year has come from outside South Dakota.

Her federal-level political action committee, KRISTI PAC , reported $3,722,103.68 in total receipts and $2,866,892.38 in total disbursements for the period of January 1 through October 16, including $47,668.56 in refunds to contributors. Cash on hand was reported as $1,192,962.69.
By contrast, the pre-general election report from her state-level campaign committee, Kristi for Governor, showed just $18,604.79 in income, including $15,267.69 of itemized contributions of more than $100 from 46 people, with just seven having South Dakota addresses.
The state-level committee’s operational expenditures for the pre-general election period totaled $110,607.42, including $60,880.68 for consulting and $18,853.18 for travel. She reported no contributions to any South Dakota candidates.
