Record warm Halloween in Syracuse keeps streak intact

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – The month of October ended with a couple of record highs in Syracuse (including the warmest Halloween since records started in 1902!) and also continued a streak that is more than four years old.

Syracuse has not had a record low since September 21st 2020 when it was 34 degrees. That is more than 1500 days ago !

Since that day there have been 34 record highs, almost 10% of all the days on the calendar, with no record low temperatures.

The majority of the record highs during the streak, 19 days, have come in just the past two years and that with two months still to go in 2024.

There are no signs of any record lows in the immediate future as the pattern through the middle of November points toward warmer than normal temperatures across much of the nation including Central New York.
