SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) -The Savannah Chatham County Public School System is developing a plan for ESPLOST V. Chatham County locals have the chance to vote on ESPLOST every five years. It’s a one cent sales tax that comes from every retail purchase in the county. In 2023, the school system says visitors and locals spent about $4.7 billion across the county and they estimate that they’ll be able to receive about $680 million from ESPLOST V if approved.
