Mild and breezy today with colder air arriving tonight

TODAY: AM Clouds, PM Sun, Breezy. Hi 74. Winds: W 10-15 mph. Gusts to 30 mph.

TONIGHT: Clear & Cooler. Lo 40. Winds: NW 5-15 mph.

SATURDAY: Sunny & Seasonable. Hi 60.

Halloween turned out to be a record-breaking day! The official high of 82° breaks the previous record of 81° set back in 1950. Last night, a cold front marched toward the region and that will bring some clouds early today along with a sprinkle or two. There won’t be meaningful rain from this front, unfortunately. This afternoon will bring clearing skies with mild temperatures in the 70s. It will be breezy today as the front pushes through. Expect a more gusty day ahead with gusts to 30 mph at times. The colder air will rush in tonight with clear skies and lows around 40°.

The weekend stays dry as temperatures temporarily return to seasonable levels. Highs will be near 60° both Saturday and Sunday with lots of sunshine both days. Another warm-up is expected early next week. Election Day should be dry and warm, similar to the current weather pattern before a cold front Wednesday might bring another sprinkle or two. If any meaningful rain pops up in the extended forecast, we’ll track it, but for now, it looks to stay dry in the long term. This will only enhance current drought concerns. Sadly, no big rain looks to be in the cards. Happy November!
