TAUNTON — Patrons of Aire Taunton, the restaurant that opened up this spring at Taunton Municipal Airport, got some concerning news at the beginning of this week.
The restaurant has been closed since last Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26, due to chef and owner Charles Hermann’s suffering a medical episode, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.
As posted on Aire Taunton’s Facebook Page on Monday, Oct. 28 , in the middle of catering an event at the restaurant that Saturday, he collapsed and had to be rushed to Morton Hospital.
The message on Aire Taunton’s social media states Hermann was “feeling completely exhausted” prior to his collapse. It was determined at Morton Hospital that he suffered from a blood clot found in one of his lungs, the post said.
“We’re grateful for the care he’s receiving and the friends and family who’ve shown up for him,” said the Facebook post.
The message continues with an apology to the guests on Saturday “who were asked to leave or whom we couldn’t serve as we normally would.”
