RICHARDSON (1080 KRLD)- Multiple people are dead and others hurt after a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 75 in Richardson early Friday morning. Southbound lanes in Richardson were shut down for cleanup and as police investigated for many hours.
Richardson police confirm to our media partner NBC5 that the fatal crash involving several vehicles happened just after 1 a.m. at the 3400 block of Central Expressway near the President George Bush Turnpike.
Police found several damaged vehicles when they arrived on scene, some mangled beyond recognition. Plano police who was also on the scene reported attempting CPR on victims.
Many people were injured and transported to local hospitals. The total number of fatalities is unconfirmed but at least 2 have been reported.
Richardson police is the leading investigating agency while Plano police also assists. U.S. 75 has reopened just before 9 a.m.
