Early voting has been popular in the First State, with over 130,000 voters already taking advantage.
The grand total of early voters through 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31 was 132,178. About half of those voters, 65,633, were in Sussex County, which has nine early voting polling stations.
Of those nine, two stations have seen more than 10,000 voters: the Midway Early Voting site in Rehoboth Beach and American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro.
The six early voting sites in New Castle County have seen 43,534 voters as of Halloween morning. Hudson State Service Center in Newark has been the most crowded with over 9,500 voters casting their ballots at that location.
On the first day of early voting, some people waited for over two and a half hours to cast their vote. Since then, the Department of Elections has added more space and voting machines to that polling place, as well as others.
