Bodycam footage shows ‘The Conjuring’ house owner’s arrest

BURRILLVILLE, R.I. ( WPRI ) — Police have released body-worn camera footage of the moments leading up to the arrest of the woman who owns “The Conjuring” house earlier this week.

Jacqueline Nuñez, who was taken into custody Monday night , has been charged with driving under the influence of liquor and eluding law enforcement in a high-speed pursuit.

Officers were initially called to Chapel Street for reports of an erratic driver, later identified as Nuñez, according to police.

Nuñez was gone by the time the officers pulled onto Chapel Street, but her Lexus was eventually spotted parked near the intersection of Hill and West roads. Police said Nuñez sped off as officers started approaching her vehicle.

The 61-year-old led the officers on a brief pursuit through town, during which she kept randomly swerving and rapidly accelerating, according to police. She eventually stopped in front of a home on Wallum Lake Road.
