There are also plenty of anti-Bernie Moreno commercials in the pivotal U.S. Senate race, and after seeing a run of six Senate commercials in a row − three on each side − one recent night, I’m with Heather.

But besides providing relief from all the annoying commercials, Tuesday’s election in Ohio will have national implications.

The state hasn’t been a presidential race battleground as Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris focused on holding the nearby “Blue Wall” states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. But Republican Donald Trump’s showing in Ohio likely will affect other races on the ballot, topped by the Senate race. Meanwhile, the political future of Trump’s Cincinnati resident running mate Sen. J.D. Vance, who’s been on a meteoric rise in national prominence, will be shaped further by Tuesday’s presidential results.
