GLASGOW, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources game warden recruit died Friday after a medical emergency during a training exercise.
Kentucky State Police said the agency-involved officers arrived at the KDFWR Game Warden Academy around 1:13 p.m. central time in Barren County.

According to a news release, a preliminary investigation showed that 24-year-old Game Warden Recruit William Bailey, from Richmond, experienced a medical emergency. Police said Bailey was given aid and later transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources said Bailey was born in Alabama and later moved to Richmond, where he earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University and played for Eastern Kentucky University’s football team.
