Caught on camera: Gunman opens fire at crowd in downtown Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — Surveillance camera video captured the moment a gunman opened fire into a crowd in downtown Orlando on Halloween night.

The 17-year-old shooting suspect wounded nine people, killing two of them, according to the Orlando Police Department.

The video showed a large crowd gathered at a Halloween celebration near East Central Boulevard and North Orange Avenue. The suspected shooter pulled out a gun and turned around, firing it into the crowd.

The crowd scattered in the chaos, but police were able to track down the suspect. Police body camera video showed his take-down and arrest.

“I saw him shoot!” the officer shouted as he brought the suspect to the ground.

Six people were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and were in stable condition, as of this report. The victims’ ages range from 19 to 39, according to police.
