MADISON, Wis. — An arrest warrant was issued for a Madison woman who allegedly altered her GPS monitoring bracelet and left her home Thursday afternoon, a Dane County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.
Anyah Jefferson, 23, is serving a seven-month jail sentence after pleading guilty in May to four felony counts of retail theft. She was granted HUBER privileges and was serving her sentence through the Dane County Jail Diversion Program.
According to a DCSO spokesperson, deputies learned at around 3 p.m. Thursday that Jefferson had altered her monitoring bracelet and left home. She allegedly did not answer deputy’s attempts to contact her.
Jefferson was declared AWOL from the Jail Diversion Program and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts is asked to call the Dane County Communications Center at 608-255-2345.
Online records show Jefferson was charged with another felony count of retail theft in September. That case remains open.
