DELAWARE – The Delaware Judiciary is warning citizens of phone scams targeting Delaware citizens. In these scams, a caller claims to represent one of the state’s courts or a law enforcement agency working on behalf of a court, demanding money to resolve an arrest warrant, fine, or some other outstanding matter. Recently, we’re told the callers demand money from people for allegedly failing to report for jury duty. Officials say scammers have even texted copies of a fake “order of arrest” to victims who request documentation and try to direct the victim to a specific non-governmental address to make a cash payment.
