HIALEAH, Fla. (WFLA) — A Hialeah man struck gold after playing a scratch-off game he bought from a supermarket, the Florida Lottery announced.
Miguel Villavicencio, 59, claimed the $1 million top prize playing the $5 GOLD RUSH DOUBLER game.

The winning ticket was purchased from Las Cuatro Hermanas Supermarket, located at 810 East 41st Street in Hialeah. That retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for the sale.
Villavicencio chose to claim his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $685,000.
The GOLD RUSH DOUBLER scratch-off game features more than $188 million in cash prizes, with 28 chances to win the top prize of $1 million, according to the Florida Lottery.
Since the inception of Florida’s scratch-off games, more than $63.1 billion have been awarded to players, and nearly $20 billion has been generated for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
