All our favorite cakes — from orange crunch and red velvet to tropical breeze and Key lime — are back on Captiva .
Boops By The Bubble Room reopened for the first time on Saturday, Nov. 1, after back-to-back hurricanes Helene and Milton kept the sweet shop closed for five weeks.
Originally expected to reopen two weeks after Helene came through on Sept. 26, Milton’s wrath on Oct. 9 further delayed it.
“(Milton) affected numerous individuals and businesses across Florida, including our own,” an Oct. 14 update on Bubble Room’s Facebook page read. “Despite this setback, we anticipate a swift reopening of all three locations.”
Now Boops is back from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily with ice cream, coffee, breakfast sandwiches, muffins and of course, those wonderful cakes.
Orange crunch — a moist yellow cake layered with an almond brown sugar crunch and orange cream cheese icing — is the most popular, followed by red velvet, moist chocolate and white Christmas.
According to the Oct. 14 post, meanwhile, The Bubble Room Emporium gift shop should reopen soon.
