KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville man was sentenced to serve 10 years in the Tennessee Department of Correction after he plead guilty to multiple charges in connection to a fatal June 2023 crash in Powell.
The Knox County District Attorney’s Office stated on Friday that Timothy D. Hooks , 24, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and reckless endangerment. The judge ordered Hooks to serve his sentence without the possibility of parole.
20-year-old killed in motorcycle crash on Western Avenue
On Friday, prosecutors explained to the court that on June 6, 2023, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash on Collier Road . Through the course of the investigation, it was determined Hooks was recklessly driving on a blind hill, heading toward oncoming traffic before he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree, the DA’s office said.
The impact of the crash killed a passenger in Hooks’ vehicle, identified by KCSO as April Satterfield, 35 of Maryville.
