Customer shot dead at Waffle House in Riverview, suspect still at large, deputies say

RIVERVIEW, Fla. (WFLA) — A 60-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound at a Waffle House in Riverview, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Just after 3 a.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to the Waffle House, located at 10041 US Highway 301 South after receiving multiple calls about a shooting.

A man was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect and victim, who were both customers, got into a verbal altercation inside the restaurant. It is unknown if the two knew each other.

Deputies said the suspect shot the man and then fled the scene.

The suspect is still at large.
