HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — A Newburgh man is facing disorderly conduct and battery charges after authorities say he bit an officer and refused to exit a vehicle that did not belong to him.
Officers say they responded to a domestic violence call in the 1100 block of Washington Square.
On scene, officers say they placed James Simpson in custody however the victim claimed Simpson was not the person who assaulted her, leading to his release.
Moments later authorities say Simpson got into a vehicle that did not belong to him, and refused to leave.
While trying to get Simpson into a transport wagon, police say he bit an officer on his upper right arm region. It is said the officer “delivered a strike to the facial region which was effective.”
Police say Simpson admitted to having “multiple beers and multiple shots” prior to his arrest.
At the hospital, authorities say Simpson attempted to bite the same officer he did earlier and pulled onto a nurse, refusing to let go. Police say they had to use force to get Simpson to let go of the nurse.
