Nevada isn’t a bad 3-6 team. It’s building back up after current Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell bolted two years ago, but it’s taking a while.
Winning this would change the season – the program wants this win over its former head man. The Wolf Pack still have to deal with Boise State and UNLV on the road, and it gets Air Force as part of the 13-game season.
Colorado State has found its groove. It’s on a three-game winning streak, and don’t look now, but it’s still unbeaten in Mountain West play.
It doesn’t have to deal with UNLV or Boise State, so win out against Wyoming, at Fresno State, and Utah State after this, and it’ll play for the Mountain West title.

The offense hasn’t been anything special, but the defense is holding up well enough with a lot of big plays to overcome the yards allowed.
The Rams have taken the ball away ten times in the last three games, but Nevada doesn’t have enough of a turnover problem to feed into it.
This is the game for the Colorado State running game that should average over five yards per carry and get to 200 yards, but in a huge game for the program, Nevada will come up with a bit extra with the offense to pull this off. The Pack ground game will take over in the final ten minutes.
