Burglary suspect caught in the act, arrested for stealing tires from local business lot

SPOKANE, Wash. — A man was arrested on Halloween morning while caught attempting to burglarize a Spokane business.

According to Spokane Police, 39-year-old Brandon S. Machala was caught on security cameras removing tires from trucks parked in a business’s parking lot just before 7 a.m. on October 31.

When officers arrived, they saw a white truck in the lot with its tires missing.

Police said Machala was hiding nearby and tried to run when officers approached the truck.

SPD found the missing tires behind the business near a cut fence.

Machala was arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail for burglary. SPD said Machala has previous felony convictions for retail theft.
