JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Police have identified the victims of a deadly crash involving a garbage truck that happened early Thursday morning in Johnston.
A sedan was traveling east on Hartford Avenue, carrying three 22-year-old men, when it veered into the westbound lanes and struck a garbage truck head-on, according to police.

Police said the driver of the sedan, Devonte Parissi of Central Falls, was pronounced dead at the scene. The backseat passenger, Kendell Dublin of Taunton, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he later died. The front-seat passenger, from Attleboro, remains in critical condition at R.I. Hospital; police have not yet released his name.
The operator of the garbage truck, a 66-year-old man, was not injured, police said.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
