(WKBN) — Winter is just weeks away, and the Ohio Department of Development is helping families stay warm this season.
The Home Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program helps those with high energy bills. It’s available now until the end of March.
Ohioans can start the application online but will need to schedule an appointment with their local energy assistance provider to finish the application. Those eligible will be given on-time assistance.
“Each year, Development helps thousands of Ohioans pay their bills and stay nice and warm, and we certainly can help do that same for you. So, if you’re struggling to pay your utility bills, know that you are absolutely not alone. We have lots of resources to help,” said director Lydia Mihalik.
Last year, the Winter Crisis Program helped nearly 77,000 households in Ohio.
