OBETZ — The state cross country meet was held on Saturday at Fortress Obetz, where four area runners competed.
In Division II, Chillicothe’s Gabby Maranzana finished 35th with a time of 19:01.4. On the boys’ side of Division II, Unioto’s William Lynch was 68th with a time of 16:17.91.
Fairfield Union won the boys’ team title in the division, led by state champion Andrew Walton. Minerva won the girls’ team title led by Lupshu won finished 13th. The state title went to Athens’ Sophia Szolosi.
In Division III, Adena’s Vannessa Conley was 70th with a time of 19:57.3. Huntington’s Rachel Lute was 101st with a time of 20:28.2.
Minster won the girls’ title in Division III, led by Maria Niekamp who was seventh. The state champion was Legacy Christian’s Caroline Hamilton.
Mount Gilead won the boys’ title, led by Will Baker who came in second. The state champion was Rittman’s Luke Snyder.
In Division I, Mason won the boys’ title led by Caden Winship who finished sixth. The DI champion was Tippecanoe’s Landon Kimmel.
