Travis Hunter hit the road to campaign for the Heisman Trophy during the Colorado Buffaloes bye week, making an appearance on ESPN’s “College GameDay.”
The Colorado two-way star and Heisman contender visited University Park, joining Pat McAfee, Nick Saban, and the rest of the crew for a lively discussion . Among the topics covered was the Buffaloes’ impressive 6-2 record and their season so far.
“We just got to go out there and play ball. We know our fans are going to back us up whenever we need them to back us up,” Hunter said. “But as a team, we know we’ve just got to go out there and finish at a high level, and play good ball down the stretch.”
Hunter also discussed his Heisman hype and what it’s taken to get to this point.
“Just having my teammates there means a lot, cause I can’t get the Heisman without my teammates,” Hunter said. “They need to do their job and I need to do my job. Keep grinding and heading in the right direction.”
Hunter’s otherworldly ability to produce as a two-way star has him firmly in the mix for college football’s most prestigious award. On offense, he’s racked up 60 catches for 757 yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively, he’s contributed 20 tackles, two interceptions, and seven pass breakups.
