ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – The New Community Shelter held its annual Bowl-a-Thon event on Saturday, with numerous participants joining in to raise money for the shelter that has helped homeless people in Green Bay for the last 30 years.
The 29th Annual Bowl-a-Thon , held at the Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley featured participants from the Green Bay Police Department and more.

The event was backed by a few sponsors, the George Kress Foundation and Green Bay Packaging, both pledging to match up to $10,000 to help the New Community Shelter reach its goal of $120,000.
“This event has become our largest and most fun fundraising event,” Terri Refsguard, Executive Director of the New Community Shelter said via a release.
Green Bay family continues Belgian pie-making tradition
The money raised will go back into the shelter as they look to continue providing meals and shelter to the homeless population in the area 365 days a year.
