ST. THOMAS, Pa. (WHTM) — A Franklin County fire company is making quite the donation to a fire department in Tennessee still recovering from Hurricane Helene.
“It makes me feel pretty proud that we were able to do something. Our department members are pretty excited about,” said Chief Thomas Bigler with St. Thomas Fire and Rescue.
Bigler tells abc27 News, they connected with the Limestone Cove Volunteer Fire Department in Tennessee.

“They needed some apparatus,” Bigler said. “We had an older truck that was here that was in service about two years ago, and we decided to donate it to them.”
Bigler says the truck they are donating is a 1997 E-One Pumper, “it’s got a 1500 pump on it, 750 [gallons] of water.”
And with the truck, Bigler says they are also sending down $10,000-to-$20,000 worth of equipment.
“We’ve donated gear and things like that to other departments in the area that they need help with stuff,” Bigler added. “This is the first time we’ve donated something this of this magnitude.”
