OVERNIGHT – SUNDAY: Saturday started the weekend with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the upper-30s to mid-40s across most of our region, so it was cool outside. Overnight into Sunday morning, a low-pressure system from the south will merge with a low from the Rockies, bringing rain showers into our region. A couple of stronger showers may even push into our region during that time, and the showers will continue well into the morning hours. So expect a dreary morning commute in some places. Morning lows will be in the 40s as well, so it will be mild outside. By late afternoon, more widespread, steady rain will move into eastern ND, spreading into the Red River Valley by late evening. A couple of rumbles of thunder are even possible at the ND – SD border. The steady rain lasts until early morning on Monday. By the time it leaves, rain totals of between 0.5″ to 1″ are likely across much of our region, so you’ll definitely want a poncho on hand, as well as some extra time on the roads. Aside from the rain, expect cloudy skies, breezy southeasterly gusts between 25-30 mph and highs in the upper-40s to low-50s. Overall, Sunday and Monday morning will be dreary.
