Liam Souliere made 28 saves as his shutout helped the Minnesota Golden Gophers men’s hockey team defeat the Penn State Nittany Lions 1-0 at 3M Arena at Mariucci on Saturday night.

The win moves the Gophers’ record to 7-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play. Penn State moves to 4-3-0 overall and 0-2-0 in Big Ten play.

Souliere’s performance led the Gophers, but a worthy adversary met him: Arsenii Sergeev stopped 11 shots for Penn State.
