SARASOTA — A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed and another person hospitalized early Sunday at Twin Lakes Park in Sarasota.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office announced that the teen died from his injuries following a shooting that occurred at the Park at 6700 Clark Road at approximately 1:12 a.m. Sunday.
A second gunshot victim was still being treated for his injuries at an area hospital as of 9 a.m. Sunday.
The report did not name the victims or say who shot them. No arrests were reported.
“The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Section is continuing its investigation into this incident,” the report states.
