The Ready Set Go Foundation hosted Chandler’s third annual mental health awareness event Oct. 12, aimed at raising awareness about mental health issues in the community.
The event included several key speakers, information on mental health and related resources, according to a news release.

The release states O.D. Harris, vice mayor of Chandler and founder of the Ready Set Go Foundation, led the event.
“Together, we can break mental health stigma and create a community where everyone feels empowered to seek help and support,” Harris said, in the release, in describing the need for mental health awareness. “Our collective responsibility is to ensure that mental wellness is prioritized and accessible to all.”
The event included speakers such as Tempe Vice Mayor Doreen Garlid, who highlighted the importance of mental health initiatives, and Melissa Ciconte from Justice 4 Preston Lord, who advocated for teen-supportive resources, the release states.
