A French Creek man was arrested for DWI following a motor vehicle crash. On Sunday around 2:30 AN, deputies with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department responded to a French Creek address and found 65-year-old Dennis Griffin a short distance from the crash. Through investigation, it was determined that Griffin was the operator of the vehicle, and that he had been allegedly operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. Griffin was placed into custody, and it was later discovered that he had allegedly communicated a threat to harm another individual before the crash. Griffin was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, unsafe lane change, resisting arrest, and 2nd-degree aggravated harassment. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail pending centralized arraignment.
