Rockville 10K/5K race to shut down multiple roads

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The City of Rockville and the Montgomery County Road Runners Club will host the Rockville 10K/5K race on Sunday, and several roads will be closed for the fun.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), road closures will begin at 8 a.m., affecting:

  • Redland Boulevard between Grand Champion Drive and the Interstate 270 exit onto Redland Boulevard
  • Gaither Road between W. Gude Drive and Shady Grove Road
  • Piccard Drive between King Farm Boulevard and W. Gude Drive
  • W. Gude Drive between Route 355 and Research Boulevard

The 10k race begins at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K begins at 8:45 a.m. For kids, a one-mile fun run will be offered and will kick off just after 8 a.m.
